Commercial Yarns Sample COM1
Each type of yarn was tied
in many appropriate knots to test the results. The knots were mounted on matt board,
labeled and covered in plastic wrap. An index card was attached to those samples
where more information needed to be noted. Each sample card was then placed in a
plastic sleeve of a three ring binder. Details of these knots are below. Soft knitting and crochet yarns can be converted to good knotting yarns

Double Coin knot: The final twist was in
the right direction Z for the knot to tie beautifully. Just the right consistency
for jewelry or ornamentation-can hang freely or can be sewn on. Won't slip! |
Neue Linie--silk knitting yarn from Germany |
"square" knot is difficult to tie in
this cord-but looks good-suitable to be sewn on as ornamentation-do not use as jewelry or
purses by itself as it is unstable hanging free. |

Twisted and Plied |

Phoenix Tail knot-super! Combinations of this knot could be
used for jewelry, bags, purses or ornamentation. |
Good Luck knot-excellent-much better than using nylon-pulls
very light and does not work loose. |
Triple Connection knot looks great, ties easily--very
suitable |

Coin knot |
Button knot ties very well & looks good |
Connection knot is fine but be careful not to pull too
tight. |

Clover leaf knot (no picture) such an easy knot but not for this cord-use it only if absolutely necessary. Wouldn't even try a congregated knot. |
Clinging knot (no picture) not
wonderful-use only when planning to sew it on. Left Right knot (no picture)--almost as good as Phoenix knot. |
Four Leaf Clover ties very nice. |
