Phoenix Tail Knot
Craftsmen use this knot in leather and plastic. It is an attractive way to make a fine cord more substantial.
A. Twist: The twist should be balanced or the expanse of knots will twist around and not lay flat. this would be a problem regardless of the intent of the project. If sewn flat to fabric, it will buckle; if left hanging it will twist.
B. Density: If the knot is to be used for ornaments, jewelry or belts; the cord must be very dense. If the knot is to be used for embellishments and adornments on fabric, it can be relatively soft lake the cord used in the polwarth sweater project.
C. Fibers: All fibers are suitable for this knot if the other requirements are met.
D. Textures: If care is taken, all textures (even boucle) can be used for this knot.
E. Wheel Requirements: Any wheel that spins your desired cord or yarn.
