Sheep's Wool:  Example A

Designed for the holidays, this baby bonnet was crocheted in a slant shell and double crochet pattern of my own design.  I used a size 0 steel crochet hook.  To make the neck tie, two strands of the yarn where threaded through a loop on the bonnet and given additional S twist.  the strands were then allowed to fold back on themselves and balance.  this created a very supple tie.  To finish the bonnet, it was washed, blocked dry and steamed with a hand held steamer.
The baby bonnet was crocheted using yarn sample #3, the fine woolen.  The soft, bouncy quality of this yarn made it ideal for delicate baby garments.  the elasticity of the yarn will allow the garment to grow a bit with the infant.  Being in the fine range of yarn allows the definition of the slant shell pattern to show and to look lacy.
Wash the bonnet in Ivory liquid with as little agitation as possible.  An herbal vinegar rinse will dissuade moths and not affect an infant.   Block dry and store clean in a cedar chest.

Note that the description is simple.   It includes the sample used and why that sample was chosen, method, finishing, and care instructions.
